2008 : Long before he was the Democratic Presidential nominee, music stars from across all genres voice their enthusiastic support of Barack Obama. This Super Tuesday sees a wave of artists as disparate as Grateful Dead, will.i.am, OK Go and members of Pearl Jam rallying behind Obama's bid for the presidency. As the year goes on and Obama's campaign gathers momentum, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Jay-Z, Common, Nas, Patti Smith, Young Jeezy, Coldplay, Usher and countless others endorse or even play concerts in support of the man who would be the 44th US President-elect.

2006 : A 29-year-old man is shot to death near a video shoot for rapper Busta Rhymes in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, New York. The man worked as a bodyguard at Kiss the Cactus Productions, where the video for Rhymes's "Touch It" was being filmed.

1967 : The British tabloid News of the World names Mick Jagger in a story about drug-taking pop stars. Jagger sues for libel, and 7 days later police raid Keith Richards' home, busting The Stones on drug charges.
2007 : Apple Computers settles a long standing legal battle with Apple Records, which is the label set up by The Beatles. The companies has disputed the rights of the computer maker to sell music under the Apple name.
