Wanted! The Outlaws Becomes First Country Album Certified Platinum
1976The Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Jessi Colter and Tompall Glaser collaboration Wanted! The Outlaws becomes the first country album certified Platinum.
Many country albums have sold over a million copies (the threshold for Platinum), but Wanted! earns the milestone because the RIAA began the certification in 1976. Bolstered by the hits "Suspicious Minds" and "Good Hearted Woman," the album tops the country tally and peaks at #10 on the Billboard 200.
