February 21, 1983 Rick Wakeman of Yes has his first child, a daughter named Jemma. The mother is Wakeman's girlfriend, Nina Carter.
January 18, 1983 Samantha Mumba, known for her hit debut single "Gotta Tell You" (2000), is born in Dublin, Ireland.
