His parents are business mogul John Casablancas, founder of Elite Model Management, and Jeanette Christiansen, a Danish model who was crowned Miss Denmark of 1965. In 2001, Julian's band reinvents guitar rock with their debut album, Is This It.

August 15, 1978 Tim Foreman (bassist for Switchfoot) is born in Lake Arrowhead, California.

June 9, 1978 Muse frontman Matt Bellamy is born in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.

May 12, 1978 Alex Ebert, lead singer of Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, is born in Los Angeles. His mother is the actress Lisa Richards, who had a regular role on the soap opera Dark Shadows and appeared on episodes of Fantasy Island and Chips.

July 1, 1977 Liv Tyler is born. Her mother is the notorious groupie/muse Bebe Buell, and her father is Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler. By the time Liv is born, Bebe has gone back to her previous boyfriend, Todd Rundgren, and Rundgren raises her as his own. Liv is 11 years old when she finds out Tyler is her real dad.

May 13, 1977 Rapper Pusha T is born Terrence Thornton in New York City. He forms the group Clipse before emerging as a solo artist.

May 8, 1977 Blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa is born in New Hartford, New York, where he'll start playing the guitar at age 4.

May 3, 1977 Country singer Eric Church is born in Granite Falls, North Carolina. After forming a band called the Mountain Boys as a student at Appalachian State University, he moves to Nashville and releases his debut album, Sinners Like Me, in 2006. His star turn comes in 2011 with his album Chief, which includes two of his most enduring songs, "Drink In My Hand" and "Springsteen."

February 28, 1977 Country singer Jason Aldean is born Jason Aldine Williams in Macon, Georgia.

January 22, 1977 Singer-songwriters James Taylor and Carly Simon celebrate the birth of their second child, son Ben Taylor. Ben later becomes a singer-songwriter, and sometimes has both his mother and father tour with him, and on occasions, his older sister, Sally.
