Gwen Stefani is born in Fullerton, California. In 1987 she becomes lead singer of No Doubt, a band formed by her brother Eric. She releases her first solo album in 2004 and in 2014 becomes a coach on The Voice.

February 16, 1996

With his band Bush on tour in New Orleans, Gavin Rossdale throws a party, hoping to connect with the frontwoman for their opening act, Gwen Stefani of No Doubt. His plan works perfectly: the couple share their first kiss amid the Mardi Gras revelry, and find they still like each other the next day. They get married in 2002, but split up in 2015.

September 14, 2002

After dating for seven years, Gwen Stefani of No Doubt and Gavin Rossdale of Bush get married at St. Paul's Covent Garden in London. They divorce in 2016.

November 14, 2004

Gwen Stefani performs on TV as a solo artist (no No Doubt) for the first time when she takes the stage at the American Music Awards to sing "What You Waiting For."

Gwen Stefani, who has been with her band No Doubt since 1986, issues her first solo album, Love. Angel. Music. Baby., with the #1 hit "Hollaback Girl."

"Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani becomes the first song certified as selling a million downloads, mostly from the iTunes store, where it's available for 99 cents. It's also the first single with more downloads than CD sales.

Nickelodeon premieres the animated series Kuu Kuu Harajuku, produced by Gwen Stefani, about a group of girls who make music and fight evil. Stefani introduced her "Harajuku Girls," inspired by the neighborhood in Tokyo, on her solo debut, Love. Angel. Music. Baby. and has integrated her love of the culture in her clothing and perfume lines.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton get married at Shelton's ranch in Oklahoma. They met in 2014 when they were judges on the TV show The Voice and started dating a year later.

May 6, 2026

After reuniting to play Coachella two years earlier, No Doubt kick off an 18-night residency at the Spere in Las Vegas, making Gwen Stefani the first woman to headline there. The setlist covers 21 songs from 1992-2003, most from their 1995 landmark album Tragic Kingdom.
