December 4, 2013 REO Speedwagon, Styx, Richard Marx and Survivor play a "Rock to the Rescue" concert in Bloomington, Illinois to benefit victims of a November 17 tornado in the area. Longtime REO guitarist Gary Richrath joins the band for "Ridin' the Storm Out," his first appearance with the group since he left in 1989. It's the last time he plays with the band, as he dies in 2015.
July 10, 2010 The audience attending a benefit for Palestinian children in Oxfordshire, England, knew they were going to be entertained by David Gilmour. What they didn't know was that Gilmour's onetime Pink Floyd bandmate Roger Waters was going to drop in for a surprise four-song set. Waters said in a Facebook posting that he agreed to do it after Gilmour agreed to join him for a performance of The Wall in March 2011 in Europe. The last time the two had been on stage together was at the 2005 Live 8 London concerts.
November 13, 2004 After several years of feuding, the rap group A Tribe Called Quest gets back together for a reunion show at the Rock the Bells festival. It's also the night when their friend and fellow rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard from the Wu-Tang Clan dies. A Tribe Called Quest opens their show with a tribute to ODB and performs some of Wu Tang's songs to start the set.
