Prince Items Up For Auction

Prince's ex-wife Mayte Garcia puts a collection of his memorabilia up for auction.

Bidding begins at $30,000 for the scorpio diamond necklace Prince wore when he met Prince Charles. Also up for bid: his handwritten lyrics to the song "In Love," a 1959 Gibson guitar used on some of his early recordings, and the ticket-me red outfit he wore on the cover of his 1998 album Newpower Soul.

Garcia married Prince on Valentine's Day 1996, but the marriage ended three years later. They must have had an interesting gift registry, as the auction includes silver-plated champagne flutes engraved with their wedding date and a 40-piece set of Lenox china with Prince's logo.

Starting at $100,000 is Garcia's 2.2-carat diamond engagement ring, along with the five pink, heart-shaped notes Prince wrote that led her to the ring.
