Meat Loaf Stars In Roadie

1980

The film Roadie, starring Meat Loaf as, yep, a roadie, opens in theaters.

Meat Loaf stole his scenes in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but here he gets a star turn, playing a Texas electronics whiz who falls for a groupie and joins the crew to pursue her. Blondie, Alice Cooper and Soul Train's Don Cornelius all appear. It's not the last time Meat Loaf plays a roadie: he's in charge of driving the Spice Girls' bus in the 1997 film Spice World.
